Ah the good old days

Lastnight Taylor, Kyla, and I went over to Taylor's parents to just hang out for a little bit. Kyla's baby cousin was over there and some other people. So when they were leaving we all went outside to say goodbye. While we were out there Kyla and I saw Fireflies lighting up. I was holding Kyla and I was telling her how I used to catch fireflies with my brothers and sisters at my great grandmas house. She was not that interested in my story and did her best to pay attention. So we finished saying goodbye and we went back inside and I started looking for a jar. Well of course Ginger didn't have any jars, but she did have a container that I brought over there a while ago. So I got that and I poked holes in the lid and I took Kyla outside and we started looking for fireflies. It was so much fun to see her get so excited about seeing one. I kept telling her to keep her eyes open. And she would respond with "well I have to blink sometimes!" She is so funny. Anyway it was so fun to run up and down the street with her and chase the fireflies around and just watch her get so excited. In the end we caught four of them and we brought them inside while we ate some dinner then it was time to let them go so they could go back to their families. Kyla didn't like that. She cried. I asked her why she was crying and she said "I just really liked my firefly friends. I didn't want to see them go." After some logic about how they have to go to their families and how she wouldn't like it if someone caught her and never let her go back to her family she said a very sad good-bye to them and we went back inside. We had a wonderful time chasing the fireflies around and it was a good reminder of the good old days!
