Tiny Dancer

Today was Kyla's "Big Show". She was perfect! She was good! She was BEAUTIFUL! She was everything!!!! I never knew such a little person could be so amazing! I had the time of my life getting her ready and doing her hair and make-up for her. She loved it to!!!! Today was a great day so here are some pictures for you to enjoy!!!!

What it takes to get a beautiful little girl stage ready.

She is such a goof.

Hey costume STILL hanging upside down to make sure it is good and fluffy!! (It was upside down for a week straight...... VERY FLUFFY!)

Her bow on the back (I tied it and frankly I'm very proud that it looked that cute)

And again! Even more beautiful than before!

My First Parent Teacher Conference

So I went to Kyla's Parent teacher conference today. Taylor couldn't go so because he had to work so I went with Jenifer (Taylor's ex-wife). And to be expected she had the highest mark possible on everything!!! She is so smart and outgoing and wonderful!!! So the teacher has suggested Kyla going to Kindergarten next year and just skipping over Pre-K. The issue here is that if we decided to put her in kindergarten next year when she graduates high school she will only be 17 years old for 3 months... But the other side is that both Taylor and Jenifer are really smart and when they were in school they got bored and got themselves into trouble because the academics weren't challenging them enough so being that she is their child she might fall into the same problems. I personally think that it will be best for her to go to Kindergarten next year because I don't think that is will be that bad for her to be at the young end of her class. Jenifer tends to agree I think and is looking into see what she needs to do to get Ky in for next year. Anyway I just think it was very cool to go and see what all she does at school and to have how extremely intelligent she is reaffirmed!!! I'm such a proud momma!!!

**side note** When I came in the teacher shook my hand and asked me how I fit into the equation and I told her that I was engaged to Kyla's dad and Jenifer said yeah she is gonna be Kyla's step mom and then quickly added even though she will never be referred to as a step mom. :) I thought that was kind of cool.... Jenifer and I have taken a lot of really good steps lately! Just thought I would let you know!

3.785 here I come

So I officially have and A in every class for this semester except my Psychology class which I got my B!!! (reference 160 pages blog) and my Motor Development class which is what I am doing up at 6:30 in the morning studying for. I have to get an 86 to get an A and it should be pretty easy to do, so I will say in advance 3.785 GPA for Spring semester 2008 here I come. (One of these days I'm gonna get a 4.0 you just wait.) I have been so close so many times it makes me so mad!! I just want to do it once! Anyway I am pretty happy for this semester it was kind of a hard one so I GUESS I can be content with a 3.785!! Wish me luck on my LAST final at 1:30 today!!

160 Pages!!!

That's right this girl, Laura Cannon Piland, read 160 pages of her text book that is all 5 chapters she had to read for her Psychology final she has today. Some of you may be thinking um so your a Senior in college and you are rejoicing over 160 pages? But in reality I think I might have read 160 over my whole 22 years of life up until now.. and that might even be a stretch. I really need to do well on this final and I told myself that the only way it is going to happen is if I read. I didn't do so hot on the first two tests in this class and I only missed one class all semester because of a migraine so obviously just attending lecture isn't enough. So I said to myself, Laura your gonna HAVE to read if you want a B in this class(an A is unattainable at this point). So I DID. I READ EVERY LAST WORD OF ALL FIVE CHAPTERS. I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***Now hopefully it will pay off because if it doesn't make a difference in my test score I may never read again because, I am not gonna lie, 160 pages is PAINFUL!!!

School is depresing me!

I am FREAKING OUT about Physical Therapy School. I am just really worried that I am not going to be able to get it. I really didn't do well the first like 4 semesters of my college carrer and I am absolutely paying for it now in stress levels that are off the charts. I just wish it was December so I would know if I was going to PT school or not. I am tired of this anxious feeling (and I haven't even applied yet.....) and I just want to know if I should be happy or sad.

Poor Baby Girl

Kyla is sick with Croups Cough. I was taking her to school on Wednesday morning and she was coughing a lot. Now, she does have the morning crud thing normally so I thought maybe it was that but the cough was very raspy. So I called Jenifer (her mother) and just gave her a heads up that she was coughing and the school might be giving her a call later.... Well, probably and hour and a half later she called and told me she was going to pick her up from school because Ashland (one of Ky's friends) mom had just called to tell her that they had just left the hospital because Ashland had Croups Cough. So then Thursday Ky woke up with a high fever and they went to the doctor and believe it or not she had it. So we didn't go to dance this morning so Taylor and I took her a get well basket. It had two coloring books, some cookies (dora, boots, and hanna montana), some mike and ikes, some push up popsicles (rainbow sherbet her favorite), some lip gloss, a care bear movie, a hello kitty movie, a little mermaid water bottle, the "love-a-lot" care bear (because Taylor and I love her a lot), and I found my ipod shuffle (which I thought someone in my class stole from me so it was really a fantastic surprise) and I put a bunch of kid songs on there for her and gave it to her (we recently went to Wal-Mart together and she picked out this three disc CD set of 150 kid songs and that is what i put on there and i downloaded some raffi songs and they are on there too). Anyway she really liked all of the stuff and it was good to see her. She looks like she is getting better so hopefully she will be back to 100% soon!!
