Why I am the way I am

I have always ALWAYS been proud of the fact that I am very much so like my mother. I look a lot like her, I talk like her, I get my emotionalness (is that a word?) from her, and I get my hard parenting from her... Since I have been a little more involved in Kyla's life I have had more exposure to parenting, and I have found that I am not very good with being sensitive. For instance, when Kyla falls and hurts herself but she didn't really cut herself or anything severe I tend to tell her just to shake it off because she is fine. Today I learned why that is... I called my mom this morning because I woke up and I blew my nose and there was some blood streaked in what came out of my nose. I haven't been feeling very good so I knew it would probably be discolored or something gross but the blood caught me off guard. So I called my mom to get her input. She told me I probably shouldn't go to work if I didn't feel up to it. Then she proceeds to tell me that if I was going to be home all day could I empty the dishwasher..... SERIOUSLY??? I call you because there is blood in my snot and you ask me to empty the dishwasher? I gave her a hard time about it and she said well, that is the way I was raised too... :) I know she means well and she obviously has raise four wonderful children it is just funny to see where I came from!

ha! my famous line from mom is, "eat some cheese!" whenever i don't feel good, she tells me to eat some cheese. so random! she thinks i need some protein or something. i call from college with a migraine: "eat some cheese!" but she doesn't say it gently. she yells at me, like, "you dummy! eat some cheese!" it usually helps though so..

:) ha. gotta love mom.
